Oregon’s Willamette Valley is one of just a handful of regions capable of producing world-class Chardonnay.
Only since the 1960s has Chardonnay been planted in this 150-mile river valley in Oregon’s northwest quadrant, an area that hugs the same 45th latitude as Burgundy, in France, where Chardonnay originates. Latitude is just one factor, but here it determines the long growing season and moderately cool climate Chardonnay requires to reach its full potential.
The growing region’s gently hilly topography, cool Pacific Ocean climate and collage of diverse soils further provide the texture, complex range of flavors and racy minerality that make our Willamette Valley Chardonnay captivating and unique. While Oregon Chardonnay has taken a backseat to Pinot Noir—in terms of publicity over the 60 years since its introduction—recent acclaim has propelled it to be one of the state’s buzziest “new” discoveries.

Characteristics
Striking for its freshness and vibrance, our Willamette Valley Chardonnay builds on pear and apple in its core, garnished with a citrusy tang and top notes of sweet spring flowers. It enters the mouth with a pleasant weight and presence without being heavy, lifted by lively acidity and a gently stony texture.
